The Analytics Solution Centre mission is to support the digital transformation of the Companies through the development and monitoring of data analytics activities throughout the Group, promoting a “data driven” approach, evaluating and developing innovative solutions in order support and speed up the decision making processes
The Analytic Solution Centre function has the responsibility of providing Data Analytics expertise and services to the BUs, to develop global footprint analytical projects, ensuring alignment with Group Strategic Priorities. The Analytics Solutions Centre defines and implements the strategy and methods to analyze data to solve business challenges, supports the identification of new business initiatives, enhancing the existing portfolios in Life, P&C and Health business and supporting Claims process optimization in coordination with the relevant Group functions while monitoring the evolution of data analytics maturity in the Group.

The Data Scientist is responsible for analyzing data and implementing mathematical and statistical models within the main business areas, with the use of the latest methodologies currently used by other industries in the Big Data space (e.g. Machine Learning).
These activities require strong analytical skills, good knowledge of statistics and programming. Innovative and creative spirit for identifying additional value for the Group companies is also an important asset. The Data Scientist will work in strong alignment with the Business Analysts, the different Group functions and the Business Units in order to solve specific tasks.

The selected candidate will:
* Work closely with stakeholders to identify and solve relevant business issues
* Query databases to perform statistical analysis
* Create algorithms and simulation models using data analysis programming languages
* Use the outcomes of the analysis to derive actionable recommendations for the Business Units
* Liaise with the Business Analysts and with the Business Units to measure the benefits of their activities
* Develop best practices for data analysis
* Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
* 3-7 years of experience
* Master’s degree in scientific disciplines (Statistics, Econometrics, Math, Physics, Mathematical/Electronic Engineering or related area)
* Fluent English
* Professional knowledge of data analysis programming languages (e.g. R, Python) and/or main data analytics software (e.g. SAS/SPSS)
* Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
* Strong understanding of Machine Learning and clustering techniques, including a very thorough knowledge of applied statistics in general
* Strong interest in advanced Data Science techniques such as Deep Learning, Text Analytics and Image Recognition
* Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources

Nice to have
* Familiarity with Big Data architectures (e.g. Hadoop)
* Knowledge of additional programming languages
* Postgraduate degree (PhD) in scientific disciplines

* Creativity and innovative thinking
* Ability to work under pressure, manage workload and meet deadlines
